Our Vision is to support and uplift communities through educational, charitable, cultural, and human service programs.

Located in the heart of North Baton Rouge, The Life Development Foundation traces its roots to the early dreams and aspirations of dedicated members of Baton Rouge Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. These visionary individuals sought to create a space that would serve the community's needs while fostering growth and empowerment.

Our Mission

The Life Development Foundation's mission is to execute programs that effectively support educational, charitable, cultural, and human service initiatives, tailored to meet specific community needs. We strive to be a beacon of hope and progress, delivering meaningful impact and fostering positive change in the communities we serve.

The Dream Realized.

The Life Development Foundation was established in 1991 to create a space for the Baton Rouge Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. With determination, members purchased land, and between 1997 and 2008, they built and fully paid for the Life Development Center—a state-of-the-art facility that supports the sorority's mission and serves the community.
